UNIQUE GIANT TCR ADVANCED SL RIM-BRAKE BIKE

This is a one-off build from one of the 101 frames that were commissioned by Giant following Tom Dumoulin’s unexpected success in the 2017 Giro D’Italia.

This was purchased as a frameset from Giant Leamington and then built up with SRAM Red eTap 11-speed.

This has been updated with SRAM AXS 12-speed, using a mix-and-match of components from across the AXS range.

Brakes/Shifters: SRAM Red
Wired Blips fitted on the tops
Brake calipers: SRAM Red
Front Mech: SRAM Rival D1
Rear Mech: SRAM Rival XPLR
Crankset: 172.5mm Carbon SRAM Force D1 driveside with QUARQ dual-sided powermeter // non-driveside is Rival
Wheels: Giant SLR 1 65mm carbon wheelset, with matching Giant SLR brake pads
Saddle: CADEX Boost carbon saddle
Chainrings: 46/33 SRAM Force
Cassette: 10-44 SRAM Force XPLR
Bar/stem: Farsports F1 Classic Handlebar 400 x 110mm
Waxed flattop chain (SILCA Super Secret Wax)
Chain catcher fitted

The frameset has been painted with a gloss topcoat, to aid with cleaning as the original paintwork was a matt effect that was a nightmare to keep clean. This gloss has a metallic flake to make the magical finish you can see in the photos.

The bike came with “1° Classificato 2017” and Tom Dumoulin’s signature on the toptube driveside, and during the painting the additional “2° Classificato 2018” to recognise the 2nd place that Tom secured the following year. This frame is obviously now unique as a result.

The gearing is one of the party pieces of this bike – it is currently got a 46-10 top end, and a climbing gear of 33-44, which is silly easy. You can swap this for a 10-36 to make the gearing normal again.

The bike comes fitted with a 400 x 110mm integrated bar stem combo from Farsports (RRP £315.)

Not-included:

Bottlecages and Pedals (any buyer of this bike will likely have their own favourite)
Saddle: the Fizik saddle will be replaced with a CADEX Boost saddle (141g), along with a fitted Numen+ Uniclip rear tail light. This is removable.
The tyres will be replaced for a front Continental GP5000 S TR 28mm front and a Schwalbe Pro One TLE 28mm rear.
The TyreWiz sensors on front and rear wheels.

Reason for selling: I worked for Giant UK HQ for 8 years (anyone from Giant or a Giant retailer will know who this is or will recognise this one-off bike!) and have recently left the bike trade. I’d love to try to ride other brands finally and am selling off all of my Giant bikes and wheels as a result. I have loved this bike but it’s time for a change.

I’m gutted to be selling this peak-rim brake bike, but it is what it is. Price is punchy but fair given the quality of the components, drivetrain and finishing kit and what the bike could be sold for if split up.
