The Severe was developed as a performance/racing XC tire for wet/mud conditions. Center tread blocks maintain good rolling efficiency while open tread pattern and tall, widely spaced spiky knobs dig deep in muddy and wet surfaces and shed mud well. This is the newest Maxxis performance XC mud tire just released this year. ~725g per tire.
