Custom built Slate: Size Large. Frame was new from 2018, built the bike up with a mix of SRAM Red and Force AXS parts in 2021 (for anyone trying to build a high end bike, post pandemic, you’ll understand the difficulty of finding available parts). Red AXS shifters and power meter, Force AXS crank arms and derailleurs.

Fork, wheels, stem and handlebar are all Enve products. Wheels are brand new, the AG28 carbon 650b wheelset.

Those familiar with the original Slate build know it came with a Lefty fork. I replaced that with the Enve gravel fork allowing for a greater variety of compatible wheels. This is one of the cool things I really liked about this bike – it’s capable of running both high volume 650b wheels and 700c road wheels (I was able to run 700×35 road slicks with no clearance or handling issues). The Cannondale SAVE carbon seat post naturally flexes a small amount fore and aft when the going gets rough.
